Picardy Chardonnay 2015
Pale lemon with hints of gold.
The nose presents at first spiced toasted oak, aniseed, white pepper, touches of nutmeg, fresh vanilla bean.
The palate is textural and intense, the fruit leaving behind a lemon curd, marzipan flavour in the mouth. The acid keeps this wine tight and together, the fruit characters are long.
After about 10 months in oak the wine is racked out of barrel to tank and then given a gentle filtration on its way to bottle.
Grilled, seared or roast shellfish like lobster and scallops, simply roast chicken with slow roast tomatoes, white truffles. Sea bass with fennel purée.
