Deep purple colour.
Attractive nose of black fruit, light perfume, bright, plus an earthy note.
Charcoal, smoky intensity in the black fruit; its oak adds to it, gives it extra thrust. Smoky finish.
The grapes are whole bunch fermented. The wine is then aged for 18 months in 30% new, French oak barrels before bottling.
Best served with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roasted, braised and grilled dishes. Also good with Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms and pasta.
